Question by : What kind of materials could I use for my atom model?
I am making an atom model for chemistry and my element is aluminum. What kind of materials that are color coated for 2 sets of 13 balls and 1 set of 14 balls can I use to glue onto clothes hangers. And also i would like something I can buy in walmart.
Thank you

cheapest and easiest is to get a clear plastic globe and some cotton/polyfill, some glue, a chopstick, some modelling clay and 2 sets of monocolored balls (e.g. red balls and yellow balls.)
One set of balls represent protons.
The other set of balls represent neutrons.
Glue the balls to one end of the chopstick — try to create a roughly spherical shape with colors alternating uniformly around the sphere. This is your nucleus.
Cut a hole in the bottom the clear sphere large enough so that you can push your nucleus-on-a stick in and out easily.
fill the clear plastic sphere/bowl with the cotton/polyfill — this is your electron cloud. be sure to leave a space in the middle to accomodate your nucleus-on-a-stick.
stick the clay to the desktop and use it to hold the chopstick vertical. place the cotton/polyfill filled bowl on top of the nucleus-on-a-stick.
that’s it — be sure to write your name on the bowl and on the stick.
